NMGS COVID-19 Update
Updated 12/29/20 – On July 30, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) permitted youth and adult recreational sports training and conditioning under specific circumstances including physical distancing.
Inter-team competitions (i.e., between two teams) are prohibited in California until January 25, 2021, at the earliest. The return-to-competition date will be reassessed by January 4, 2021 based on California disease transmission trends and is subject to change at any time given the level of COVID-19 transmission in California.
Under current guidance Outdoor Moderate-Contact Sports such as softball are permitted in the Red or Substantial Tier with restrictions. FACE MASKS are required for all NMGS players in infield positions.

- Softball pants (uniform top, socks and visor will be provided)
- Batting helmet (with mask)
- Face mask (for all infielders)
- Bat (optional, but recommended)
- 6U & 8U Division: 10″ ball
- 10U Division: 11″ ball
- 12U Division: 12″ ball

When you’re a parent, it’s almost inevitable that at some point you will run into questions. That’s especially true in case you’re new to softball… Being aware of that, we want you to know that there is team by your side! Our board of directors and volunteers are parents too, so we are determined to answer questions you might have! Whether you have questions about selecting equipment, simple catching drills that you can do with your daughter or anything in between…
